Family Vacation in Boracay (Part 1)

Our summer started a little bit late that the usual. I feel like I we do not have a summer at all. I think this is the first time that I was not able to visit a beach destination in the last 5 years on the months of March to May. Really a bummer, right?

So, you wonder why I this blog entry in the first place? My family has decided that we will visit Boracay on the month of June when Summer is officially over but that did stop us from having a fun time on the famous little island.

This entire series is a photo diary of sort. I do not have long narrative about Boracay and normally when I am in the island, I just enjoy the time though it’s different this time around as this is the first time I was able to visit Boracay with my family.

Coffee Crawl 001 – Legazpi Village

One Friday afternoon, me and my friend, Sharmie, decided to have coffee. Well, it’s not a simple plan just like that. We have been trying our best to have coffee get together for the longest and we failed miserably because of our schedules and prior commitments. To give you a short back ground, me and Sharmie are both coffee lovers. We cannot start our day without our daily dose of caffeine. Sharmie has always been asking me what coffee shops I frequently visit and I have decided to bring her in one of my most favorite neighborhoods to get great coffee here in Metro Manila.

Me and Sharmie – Off To See and Taste The Coffee

To be exact, we have visited a total of four coffee shops all in Legaspi Village in Makati City and we call it our coffee crawl date.

As you have probably know by now, I am a big lover of coffee house aesthetic and most of the time, I prefer the quaint, not-so-secret coffee houses over the franchised ones.

First stop is The Curator. This visit is my fourth time in Curator and I can consider it as one of the best shops to have your coffee. I really envy those people who work nearby as they can just pop in and out of this secret coffee shop anytime.

Minimalist

Shake O Wat O

Curator’s design aesthetic is very minimalist mixed with a slow club hits that remind you to just slow down and have fun. The music they play kind of reminds me of Boracay backdrop whenever I’m there that tells me to to just slowdown and enjoy my cup of coffee. I also consider Curator as one of the most pleasingly aesthetic coffeehouse I have been to (together with the coffeehouse in Mozaic Design). Sorry but I am big fan of neutrals and thinking of having that color scheme when I get my own place soon.

Hint of Greenery

Happy Face

Off to the next stop is Yardstick. Another must visit place for all coffee lovers out there. Yardstick is workshop place for coffee roasting. Aside from roasting their own coffee, they also supply beans to different coffeeshops.

Happy Face (Part 2)

Yardstick aesthetic is bright like exposure level +50 in snapseed. It is so bright there, given that the place is a workshop. What’s great with bright places is it makes everything pop and will help you process your pictures easier. I also love the color scheme they have selected for their coffee cups.

All Hearts for the Coffee

Before going to our third coffeeshop, we stopped by a garden in the middle of the city. It gave our body some lieu way to process the caffeine we had and to enjoy some greenery in the process.

After that quick side trip, we moved on to The Local Edition. Out of the places we have visited so far, Local Edition is the most jam-packed.

That Cheesy Goodness!

Always Doing The Most

Sharmie have to pass on drinking some coffee and I opt to get their teaspresso instead. I think I ordered the exact same thing the last time I was there. Their grilled cheese sandwich was the best grilled cheese I had and it is so affordable, I really recommend the grilled cheese sandwich in The Local Edition.

Last but not the least, one of my most fave if I will tally all the coffee shops I have been to, Fundamental Coffee would end up on my top three list. Unknown to many, Fundamental Coffee is only a few steps away from Glorrieta. I really love how people do not really notice this coffee place and I want to be greedy and not to share this place with everyone.

Contemplating What To Order

That’s our coffee crawl in Legaspi Village in Makati. Me and Sharmie are planning where to do our next coffee crawl. Check out her facebook account as she was able to post a vlog about our coffee crawl day. This coffee crawl is definitely not the last one and you can see more of Sharmie on the next coffee crawl post.

Thanks Sha! Until The Next One!

This post is for all those coffee lovers out there. Manila is really bustling with great coffee house and I am happy to see the growth of third wave coffee in our dear country.

Painted Blue on Blue

I know I have been a fan of monotone colors like black and gray. I will always be a fan of those color for like forever. I find those colors easy to match with everything. Though from time to time, you crave for something different.

A Happy Kind of Blue

I also noticed that aside from blacks and grays, my sight is somehow attracted to blues. Especially these last few weeks. Maybe I am missing the beach as I only visited one beach destination this year.

Blues Versus Grays and Greens

I’ve worn this ensemble to recent coffee crawl which we visited four coffeeshops in a day. The outfit lets me move comfortably and is made for walking from coffee house to another. Also, with the blues I’ve worn also compliment the neutral color palette of the coffee house we have visited. Stay tuned for my blog entry about our Makati coffee crawl soon.
