Month: July 2013

July Just Ended

“I totally miss summer and that’s why I wore my espadrilles.”

It’s the last day of July and hopefully I will be able to funish this entry before midnight strikes and before I say, “Hey there, August!”. The last day of July was super fun. I know that we are not priviledged to go out late during the weekdays but we can’t help but to celebrate. My super close work friend has planned a Korean dinner to Matgalne in Ortigas for her post birthday celebration and coming back get-together from a paradise vacation . According to google the word “matgalne” translates to delicious, and oh the food were superb and we had so much fun eating sangyeupsal (did I spell it correctly?) and dip the pork or beef on peanut sauce or sesame sauce then wrap it on lettuce, mint leaves and shiso. I love the idea of cooking your own food while chatting and eating at the same time.

Anyways, I really miss summer and that is why I wore my espadrilles. Originally, the concept of espadrilles came from Spain and let me say that espadrilles are like heaven for my soles. They are so comfortable. This specific pair I got it from Sueno de Espadrilles, which let me give you some hint – they are on clearance sale now. Well, only for the Podium branch. I paired it with oversized purple graphic tee from People R People and my black skinnies are from Topshop. My ensemble is very much diverted from the gloomy weather of Metro Manila.

Get Your Jeans & Prints On

I’ve been neglecting my blogging duties for the last few days/ weeks. Maybe because of my busy schedule, ever changing work schedule and I’ve been so hooked with reading ebooks and stuff. Even one of my guy friends from work asked me last week, “Why haven’t you been posting your outfit for the day in instagram?”. If you will notice, my instagram isn’t updated at all. There are those very rare occasion I post very random stuff if wifi is available or when I use data on my phone. Even my facebook isn’t that active anymore. To be honest, what I really want to achieve is that my blog (this blog) and instagram would be the most active of all my social sites. I’ll try to do that and I am just waiting for something big to happen in the next few weeks. So I want to say that for the next month or two, I will still try to blog although it will be very scarce then after that “big thing” happen, I promise to blog more and more active on my outfit posts. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Going back to my “wear-abouts”, for the last days of July, I happened to opt for more comfortable clothing starting with Jeans, skinnies to be exact. Jeans are so big for this month, everywhere I go, there’s a big jean special even some of the bloggers and stylists use jeans on their ensembles, etc. I can say that jeans are not just a fad. It is a classic wear good for all around things.

Another trend I am obsessed at the moment is the full print pattern shirt. Here in Manila, it’s kind of hard of looking for these tees. Though if you look closely, Topshop and People R People offer tons of those.

So here’s my outfit post:

Jeans are from Zara, they are so comfortable and you can wear them almost with everywhere. I love the hue of the skinnies. I just love them that I need to have tons of them. The full print tee is from Topshop. I just love how the graphics work although you have to be careful in choosing the print because sometime it would make you round and plump.

Reading Is My Other Pleasure

I’ve been posting lots of fashion related stuff on my blog. I love clothes and dressing up though another side of me that I want to share as well on this blog is my love for books.

My fascination with books started when I was like on my 2nd or 3rd grade. I remember reading my very first book which is this: “The Baby-Sitters Club”.

image

I remember picking it up randomly at a sale rack and voila my love for the series alreay fired up. I remember that I almost felt like crying when I learned that the book series will be coming to it’s end. I was really grateful and thankful that Ann M. Martin (who by the way is still one of my fave top authors up until this time on my age of 20-something) wrote those fabulous books and really impacted my life in big big ways. I sometime wonder that she inspired me as well to write and thrive hard so that I can write/ blog.

Of course my choice of reads have matured as well. As of this time I am reading Crossfire series by Sylvia Day. It is an romance psychological series for mature readers. Though once in a while, I have to say that I am a big fan of the “Young Adult” genre. I just finished reading Kiera Cass’ “The Selection”, “The Prince” & “The Elite”. I greatly recommend that series. If you love dystopian less the gore and more romance, that series is the perfect match for you. I cant wait for the next book from “The Selection”. I guess I have to wait until May 2014 to read it.

Some Mismatched Line

Saturdays are like the most comfortable day of the week. For one, it is not considered as a work week and that generally means stress-free day. Saturdays are also the day of the week, I got to meet some friends (do some catching up) or have dinner with family.

As for me, Saturdays are like my prerequisite day for new outfit post for my blog. I will try my very best each week to have new outfit post, and if you remember my previous blog posts, I stated that I will do more blogging.

Ok going back to my Saturday outfit which I have to say is so comfortable. So here’s my outfit:

Saturday Outfit

The tunic white and blue top is from local brand “Maldita”. I’ve been a fan of this local brand since college. Their collections showcase basics and classics. Great for officewear and casual wear. I paired with with “Cotton On” leggings. I have like five pairs of those leggings in almost the same hue. If you line them up, you can notice the difference with their colors but I can still say they are still of the same family color. That’s what compulsuve buying does to me. I will be a smarter shopper from this point on. I need to add that to my midyear resolution. For shoesies, I wear my fave Parisian X Rajo Laurel again.

The ensemble is very much basic wearing. I love the idea of layering basics. What good with basic layering is you can wear all-out accessories. For me I forego some accessories because it was my day to night wear. From Saturday office work to a dinner date and some coffee after that. Well to tell you honestly, I should have wore some accessories. Maybe a bracelet but never a statement necklace because I love the details off the tunic. The color and mismatched line is so refreshing.

My Newest Love Affair

The last few weeks were a blur of busy schedule. I don’t even have the time to do some proper blogging, which I have to admit kind of suck. Aside from the fact that I had a super busy schedule and working on a weekend, I find solace in eBooks. Yes, you read it right. That’s eBooks.

I was never really a fan of eBooks, maybe up until like around 2 weeks ago. I consider myself as a very traditional, old school book lover. So the idea of eBooks is very vague and I really thought that it is not for me. Though I guessed I proved myself very wrong. I even read like three books on that very short timeframe. Hello, that was so fast for me but to be honest I’m quite of a reader.

What I really love about eBooks is you can purchase a rare title with a touch of your fingertip and some courage to use your Visa card for online purchase. You dont even have to do some bookstore hopping which to be honest with you is one of my fave pastime if ever I have some spare time to burn.

So this is how my electronic bookshelf look like:

And here’s my latest baby case:

So now you know I was quite busy and was not so present in my blog. Well, we can blame my schedule and eBooks. It is the start of the half of 2013 so I decided to do some midyear resolutions:
1) Blog more.
2) Read more.
3) Shop more.
4) Dress up more.
5) Learn Nihonggo
6) I dont know anymore, the list just goes on and on and on….

Cloudy With A Touch of Emoda

“It rained. Hard. And I thought I was fully prepped for the weather. Then I was so wrong”

It was a Sunday morning and Typhoon Gorio is busy strolling in Manila and I decided to make it a special day, instead of being gloomy, cooperating with the weather. Then the unexpected turn of events ~ the sun is actually present. I thought that I’ll make this Sunday really special because I decided to wear Emoda or atleast one garment from Emoda. For those who doesnt know Emoda, it is actually a Japanese apparel high street shop (which I only learned about around 6 months now),  and is quite popular with bloggers and lookbook users. So you might ask, how I managed to grab one if I am not from Japan? Emoda actually has an online shop which deliver to Manila etc. It offers both classic wear and some very girlish stuff. And another good thing is, their garments are quite reasonably priced and well tailored.

Anyhow, I’ve been neglecting my blogging duties for the last couple of weeks because of busy schedue and early morning call time. Aside from that, I happened to discover the wonder of eBooks. I know, eBooks have been there for quite sometime but it was actually my first time to appreciate it. I’ve been known to be a traditional book lover and I even tweeted this:

Going back to my outfit for the day, sweater is from Uniqlo. That one is quite an old one. I had those for like two years now but rarely have the chance to wear it because it is kind of warm. So I save it supposedly for weather like last weekend’s. The bottom is from Emoda. That is quite a staple from their online store because I bought it like 4 months ago and this is the first time I wore it, and the last time I visit their website like around a month ago to do some online window shopping it was still up for purchase. What Im thinking is they are still feauturing fall winter collection on their website. For the shoes, I opted to wear Japanese inspired loafers from Parisian X Rajo Laurel. I’ve just noticed when doing my final copy edit that Uniqlo and Emoda are both Japanese brands. I really hope that I will be able to visit or live in Japan soon ( special mention to Tita, *laughs). I think I will be very broke if I live in Japan. Hello shopping!?

PS. I am loving the Korean TV reality show “We Got Married: Global Edition” on Animax. I’m actually watching it and laughing and so kilig while finishing this entry. Very random but I just want to share.
