Cebu (Part 4): Virgin Island in Bantayan

Cebu is known to house some of the best beaches in the Philippines. Being a beach lover myself, I will never pass the chance to visit one of the beach spots gaining popularity in Cebu. I’ve heard about this place a couple of years back, thanks to one of my closest college friends who is a Cebuana but raised in Manila (which by the way you can visit her blog by clicking HERE). I’ve been waiting about this part of my Cebu trip and definitely an icing on top of a great trip we had.

Toasted

For our last iterinary in Cebu, we went to Bantayan Island in Sta. Fe, Cebu. Bantayan Island has its own rustic charm as if time slows down when you are in this area. It is quickly gaining popularity among beach lovers and travellers alike. Though this is not a travel blog which normally gives directions and tips about the places I’ve visited, my blog is more of a personal online space for me to diary my travels and for the readers to find inspiration to travel as well. I’ll leave it to professionals to come-up with a legit travel blog.

The Virgin Island

Bantayan Island houses a lot nice beaches and even the beach front of Anika Beach Resort, where we stayed, boasts pristine white sands.

One of the orders of business is to visit Virgin Island. We hopped on a boat instead and visited Virgin Island.

I did not set any expectations for this visit in Virgin Island as I do not know that this small island exists or even part of our iterinary. I have to say that this is a must visit place in Bantayan.

Virgin Island feels like you were castawayed from the busy society. Perfect place to get a tan, enjoy the white sands & clear water and just enjoy.

Laiya (Part 2): Vantage Point For Sunrise

Long overdue part two of my blog post of my beach trip in Laiya, Batangas.

For our second (and last day) of this quick getaway, we have decided to wake up early to catch the sunrise. The previous day, we were excited to catch the sunset but it so happened that Laiya in on the other side of the sunset. Upon learning that, we have decided to ring our alarm early so that we can catch the glory of sunrise. You could have known by now that everytime I go on beach trip, I never watching the sun rises and sets.

Sunrise

All Smiles

Golden

There is something about sunrise and sunset that I find amazing. Both time of the day exudes romantic and optimistic feel. Aside from that, this is the perfect time to have your photos taken, more commonly known as “Golden Hour”. Most people opt to enjoy golden hour during sunset (given the time) over sunrise. Though both time of the day provides a soft light and shadows to any photos which gives an automatic filter (without using one and less post-production process for photos).

Happiness

Also for the second day, we have the chance to enjoy the pool and see more what Sabangan Resort has to offer. We really love the ambiance as if you are in a secluded jungle because of the big trees surrounding the area.

I really had fun with this beach trip with my best friend. Thanks to her, we have shared precious memories and thanks to my best friend that I have Instagram worthy and blog worthy pictures.

Laiya (Part 1): Sweet Beach Trip

I love beach trips. You could probably say by now that beach trips are my kind of vacation. These kind of trips are more memorable if shared with a best friend who will also be your photographer and constant “talk-mate”.

Though it has not been long since our last beach trip together, my college best friend is currently not based here in the Philippines. So we always make sure that whenever she’s back in town, that we book this kind of mini vacation.

For this weekend trip, we decided to visit one of the nearest beach destination in the Metro. Quite honestly, the term “near” is somewhat not appropriate given the travel time (including the horrendous traffic in the Metro plus the actual travel time) and the proximity of the beach destination.

We have visited Laiya, Batangas. Laiya is a sleepy town/ muncipality in Batangas known for its beach and resort accomodations. There are plenty of resorts to choose from but we have decided to stay in Sabangan beach Resort.

Sabangan Beach Resort boasts a nature style ambiance with modern amenities. Another great thing about the resort is it has its own beach front which is a a must consider when choosing or booking for this kind of trip/ vacation.

Day 2 of my short travel series in Laiya coming soon.

Deep Blue

This probably the quickest that I’ve blogged so far. Just arrived from an out of town trip last night with my college best friend and I’ve already done a little bit of edit and draft. This is a really good sign.

This is the first outfit blog from my recent trip in Batangas (where else but to the beach). We are so lucky to be living in a tropical country that makes it far from impossible to visit a beach whenever you want to. Well, except maybe for a few days when rain is unbearable.

Close Up and Make Up Look

Recently, I have this fascination with blue tones. Whenever I do my shopping, blues always attract my eyes. I also think that blues mixes well with my peach/ pink hair. The combination of blues and pinks brings a more youthful feel.

Waters From The West

Vacations with friends are a must do during Summer. The last couple of years, I never pass on the chance to go to the beach with my closest friends.

Tactile

Out Of The Woods

To open the summer season, me and my college best friend went to visit one of the gems of Luzon, which is Zambales. I’ve been wanting to go to this province for the longest and if I am correct, the last time I visited this nearby province was more than 5 years ago. Despite the proximity of Zambales in the Metro, I rarely have the chance (perfect timing) to pay a visit.

Zambales offers a wide range of beach you can think of. You can have resort accomodation, camping or simple island life depends on your liking. Though I love travelling (or being a tourist), I do not consider myself as the adventurous one. I always opt to go for relaxing resort vacation. Good thing, Zambales offers what we were looking for. We stayed in Crystal Beach Resort in San Narciso. Most known for the annual music festival that takes place on their resort ground. We went their at the start of the summer season in the Philippines and we were able to book a room without any hassle though the last minute before checking in, we decided to upgrade our accomodation. Make sure to book and call them ahead of time if you want to stay for the weekend as rooms tend to book really fast.

Like We Own The Shore

There are a lot activities that can be done in the resort. For us, we just decided to stay on the beach and have so much fun capturing memories in our cameras. In short, what we did is beach bumming plus photoshoot. Aside from the beach, almost all corners of Crystal Beach are instagram worthy.

Must do for this vacation: watch the sunset and take advantage of the golden hour. Have you always though what “Golden Hour” is? It is the the time of the day just before sunset when all the photos taken do not need to be edited or do not need any filter. Golden hour will give you the glow any BB cream can provide. Trust me, it is one secret I live by when taking photos for my blog. Not just for my travel blog posts but for my OOTDs posts as well.

Sending You All The Mini Hearts

Technicolored

Dressing up on the beach is really tricky but at the same time a challenge I enjoy doing. Why do I say that? Mainly because when you buy your outfit pre-vacation: your skin is lighter, hair is the perfect color (for me blonde) and you tried to get ready for your vacation by being a little too watchful of what you eat. Then when you beach vacation starts: you eat (a lot!), stay in the sun longer (because you have so much fun and it’s always picture perfect under the sun) and your hair becomes more brassy (in case for my blonde hair – thanks to the sea).

Cue Beyonce’s “Deja Vu”

Zambales Life

For this summer, I tried (planned?) to be as colorful and bold on my coordinates but whenever I see monotones, my mind always says, “that’s perfect for you!”. So what better thing to do? Pack all the most colorful pieces you have and bring some blacks and gray. It’s just a matter of mixing and finding the balance for your coordinates.

Fashion has no rules. Style is what makes you an individual. Experiment with your coordinates. Have fun under the sun and get a tan. And most importantly, be confident.

Sunshine and a Little Pink

Beach is a happy place for me. It’s as if the sands, sun and sea arr the remedy to my stressed body. What I’m planning to do is to visit as much beach destinations as possible. Who wouldn’t want to travel and enjoy the beach?

Beach Trip!

Tropicana

As much as I love the beach, I am not like the others who stay in the waters – swim & snorkel, do extreme water activities, etc. but instead I am more like a lazy beach bum. As in literally a bum. I just love lounging in the sands (preferrably under the shade), read a book, listen to the clashing of the waves and take a lot of picture (most of the time, of myself or my beach OOTDs).

Not to pass on a beach OOTD, my very first style post is from my very first vacation of the year, which is in Bolinao, Pangasinan. I’ll blog more about my 2nd visit in Bolinao very soon.

For this style post, I opted to wear an all black ensemble. I always believe that you will never go wrong with black. To accent the monotonous color, I brought along with me a pink Oriental cover-up which by the way matches my new hair color!

Nothing Short of Sunshine

More travel soon, I will try to top my 2015 travel diaries. I really hope so. More OOTDs and I’ll try to be a better blogger by doing more blog entries.

Palawan (Part 8): Twin Beach and Last Day

What I not so love in a vacation is the last day. I find it sad that the vacation is almost over but at the same time looking forward to what the last day of the vacation can offer. Sometimes, or let’s say most of the time, the cliche “saved the best for last” may be true. Not in the case for El Nido as every moment spent in the paradise island is a moment to treasure. Palawan is called the “Final Frontier” for so many reasons. I may have put in the superlatives in my previous posts, but those adjectives are still not enough to give justice to what you can see, sense and feel while vacationing in El Nido.

We started off the day a little early than the usual as we headed to El Nido’s famous twin beach. Honestly, I don’t think the twin beach is still part of El Nido town as the ride going to Nacpan- Calitang twin beach will take a little less than 60-90 minutes drive depending on your ride. You get it, it is too far from the main town of El Nido.

Stretch

Walk, Walk and Walk

Nacpan Beach is a long stretch of sands that extends around 1 or 2 kilometers. That’s not the exact measurement, but it is so long. So, if you like to spend your mornings walking in long stretch of fine sands, this is the perfect place for you. Aside from that, if you want to avoid the sun but still craves for the sea (the crashing waves and cool winds) this is also the perfect spot in El Nido for you. The entire stretch of Nacpan Beach is lined with coconut trees that will give a cool shade under the summer sun. Too much tan can sometimes kill you, eh?

Further to left when facing the waters of Nacpan Beach, you can climb a steep hill that will give you the best unobstructive view of the twin beach, Nacpan and Calitang Beach. Not too worry about finding your way up as the helpful stray dogs would be your own tour guides in the steep and sometimes narrow road up the hill.

I Feel Freedom

After a quick tour of El Nido’s twin beach, as we only stayed there a little less than two hours, we thought that the vacation and our “tour” is over. But we were wrong. Luxury of having connections to help you rent a private ride in a province. We went straight to Marimegmeg Beach which is located on the opposite side of the cove of Bacuit Bay. Marimegmeg Beach is a great alternative to Bacuit Bay if you are looking for a more relaxed ambiance for your accommodations. This is where you can literally stay under the coconut trees in a canopy and beach bum while reading a book. What a life! Marimegmeg Beach is known as where to view the best sunset in El Nido. Too bad we were not able to experience that sunset in Marimegmeg but our own little sunset in the middle of the sea is hard to top off.

Right Back At You!

That wraps up my summer vacation in Palawan. Actually, I stayed an extra night in Puerto Princesa so technically this isn’t the last day of my vacation. I will definitely go back to Palawan and El Nido soon. Still too many islands and spots to discover. Our El Nido trip is definitely a one for the books (and one worth sharing). Travel more and experience what your country can offer.

See You Soon, Palawan! 💋

Palawan (Part 7): Pocket Beaches and Lagoons

Last few islands for our second day of island hopping tour and El Nido keeps on revealing its beauty.

One of the last islands we have visited is the Cadlao Island/ Lagoon. Once you step in this lagoon-slash-island, it gives you the feel of being transported to prehistoric time as if any moment now a dinosaur will come out and play. Seriously, no dinosaurs in this place but extra careful with the monkeys. The water is calm and a little deep at some point. Perfect spot for beach bumming if you are too tired staying and tanning under the sun as the beach has eternal shade from the high limestone formations.

Frontier

Rugged Rock Formations

Pasandigan Beach is our next destination, just a short ride from Cadlao. This beach is for you if you like long walks in the beach. From this beach, you can see the El Nido town. In fact, some of the tourists opt to kayak from El Nido town to Pasadigan Beach.

Serenity

Airblown

Last island for the day and last island destination in El Nido is Bukal Island. A pocket island near Bacuit Bay. Calm and shallow waters are here perfect if you need that much needed photoshoot for your Instagram. Not much activities here but travelers can stay here for the night to experience an authentic island accommodation which is sleeping under the night sky either with or without a tent, which by the way is not my style.

El Nido Captured My Heart

On our way back to El Nido Town, we were lucky enough to experience and see the sunset in the middle of the ocean. As you know by now, sunset is my favorite part of the day and I make it a point to capture sunset wherever I go. I will never get tired of watching the sunset.

Sunset In The Middle of The Sea

That wraps up the second day of our island hopping in El Nido (and third day in Palawan). Bittersweet moment as this travel series is coming to an end.
