Cebu (Part 3): Blooms and Blooms

Now, this got to be one of my favorite parts of our Cebu trip.

Happiness When There Are Flowers

I always love flowers and my Instagram feed is the living proof for that. Starting from the time that I heard and seen about this place, I hava a permanent mental note that I should visit this place. I will not let this Cebu trip go by without visiting Sirao Flower Farm/ Sirao Peak.

Colors

Be Always Blooming

Sirao, as I know, is still part of the city (Correct me then if I am wrong). Located atop of a mountain lies a wonderful place full of blooming flowers. Going up to the peak is a little bit of an ordeal but I have to say it is all worth it. Don’t worry though, as cars, taxi and other mode of transportation are readily available from the city center going to Sirao.

Flower Power

Sirao Garden is sometimes called as “Little Amsterdam” as it it reminiscent of blooms from that city.

Me, Being Sweet and Montochromatic

Every corner is Instagram worthy and for a flower lover like me, you will be consumed in your own little space taking in pictures of the flowers, taking selcas and asking your friends to take a photo or two (or hundreds) of you.

Sirao Peak is a must see place in Cebu. We went there on a Saturday morning and the place is a little packed but as you can see the in our pictures it seems that we are the only ones there. Thanks to the other visitors who let us take our photo without a photobomber. I guess it’s a give-and-take unspoken relationship we had with the other tourists. If you really wanted to have the whole place for you, maybe you can visit really early and on a weekday.

Cebu (Part 2): All Sorts of Water From The South

After the tiring early afternoon trek in Osmena Peak and seeing what the highest peak in Cebu can show, we are off to the first beach in Cebu, which is Moalboal.

I never really knew about Moalboal until I came here. Good thing that my friend Amor is actually from Cebu. Moalboal is located in the southwestern part of Cebu. Pristine white sands and rich underwater are the main selling points of this part of Cebu. Scuba diving, free diving and snorkeling are the activities to do in this part of Cebu.

I’ll Trade Anything For This Moment

Since Moalboal is facing on the western part, this means great news – superb sunset. Yes, the sunset here is nice, divine, and breathtaking and all the adjectives I can think of. I always make it a point to see the sunset whenever I am on a vacation.

The Moalboal Sunset

The following day, we opted to go to one of the islands to see in the Moalboal area which is known as Pescador Island.  This part of Cebu boasts rich marine life that can match the best diving spots to all the places I’ve been to. I never tried scuba diving but by simple doing a free dive or snorkel, you can easily see the greatness needs to be seen just after you jumped off from the boat. I marked this as a must visit place to visit while in Cebu.

After a morning of sea salt, we headed straight to Kawasan Falls. Originally, I did not intend to join this part as you know, I rather be the passive type of traveler, but hey, thank goodness that I’ve given it a go. I never knew that I will have so much fun jumping from a 30-foot waterfall and hurt my butt off after. It was exhilarating yet fulfilling at the same time. We took so many pictures in Kawasan Falls but I honestly think GoPro is not my camera of choice. There are water splashes all over; pictures were out of focused so I guess this part of this vacation will hold dearly in my mind.

Cebu (Part 1): Peek at the Peak

Finally, I will now be able to start my Cebu series. This is way overdue as our Cebu trip happened last October 2016. Honestly though, it felt as if I was just there last week and I feel nostalgic, happy and bittersweet everytime I look at the photos.

Just, Wow!

Greenery For The Win!

If This Is Aint Perfection?

First stop: Osmeña Peak. Ok, I know what you are thinking! Does it mean trekking? Can Orange really trek all the way to the top? Actually, I did given that I am a passive type of tourist who prefers lounging at the beach, enjoying boat rides and the same but trekking or mountain climbing is even on Orange’s vocabulary? Yes, I even surprised myself but I think this would be the few or rare vacations that I will do this and let me say that I have not regretted it at all.

Happy Kid – First Time To Go Up The Mountain

Taking In or Busy With Instagram?

Osmeña Peak is known as the highest point in the island of Cebu. Good thing about climbing the peak is that you do not need to be a pro-mountaineer to enjoy the breathtaking view. All you need to have are friends to talk and joke to on the way up and a lot of water. I think we were fortunate enough that on our way up, the sun is covered by the clouds (and there is fog, even). But I guess we prayed enough and mixed with a little bit of luck that when we reached the peak, the sun let us peek what is there to see at the peak: super nice view.

Peak-A-Boo

Like I said, I have never climbed any mountain and prefer observation deck over anything but Osmeña Peak is on a different level. Have to say that, visiting Osmeña Peak is a must do when you are planning to visit Cebu.

PS. The climb (or more appropriately called walk up) only took us 30 to 40 mins but as per the tour guide, it will only take 15-20 minutes. So I guess you do the math of how slow we walked all the way up. So there.

In The Mood For Blue Summer

Summer has been my favorite part of the year as this is the perfect time to enjoy the beach. But here in the Philippines, summer is “almost” an all year long season. You can visit the beach anytime (except when there is a tropical storm or low pressure area) to enjoy the sun and get some tan.

Smile, The Sun is Out

It is innate for those living in tropical countries to choose the summer season over the wet seasons. Honestly though, I am still wishfully thinking that our country has autumn and spring (and forego the winter season).

This outfit post way long overdue as this was taken during our trip in Cebu back in October 2016. I will be posting my travel diaries soon so please watch out.

Looking For Something?

Gorgeous back drop was courtesy of Virgin Island in Sante Fe, Banatayan, Cebu. I highly recommend this island ad a visit when you are in Cebu. Bantayan has a lot to offer.

Sleeveless top is from Factorie. Shorts from H&M.

Mood for Some Blue

I have been wearing a lot of blues recently and is becoming one of my faves after black and gray. The H&M shorts are not actually under the swimwear line but they are so cute that I decided to bring them to the beach.

Black Out

Nowadays, I opt to go for minimalist look compared to when I was younger I have tendency to go for maximalist. I don’t know if this is a sign of maturity (or ageing – whatever you call it. LOL).

Black Is One Of My Faves

When I cleaned my closet before Christmas, all I see is a sea of muted colors of black, whites and grays with sometimes hint of blues and very minimal to none for loud colors. I guess my affinity to muted colors is because of my ever changing hair colors. I promise to blog about my hair color adventures soon, so better stay tuned. Even my to-go-to colors for shoes are gearing toward grays and blacks. I really think that the streamlined Asian aesthetic influenced me to go for this style. I like how simple pieces make up interesting overall look (topped by the my light pink hair).

Ever wonder where this wonderful place is? It is in The Alley At Karrivin in Makati City. The hidden place houses some furniture shops, flower shop, restaurant and very great coffee shop named “Writer’s Block”. I think I’ll also start blogging about my coffee adventures too?

Gray Matters Most

Gray has been my to-go-to color and it has been a constant color on my OOTDs. I know I’ve said this before that whenever I go to a store my eyes gravitates first to grays and blacks. Another reason I love picking up grays for my OOTDs is because it is one of the colors that you can easily mix and match with almost everything. If you want monotony and minimalist, pair it with black. If you want to go all out kawaii, pair it with killer colors. You can never go wrong with grays, in my own opinion.

Gray

In The Midst Of All The Colors

What is really fascinating too is that it my gray wardrobe pieces can easily coordinate with my ever changing hair color. This is a proven fact – I’ve tried pink (light and dark), purple, lilac, violet and blonde, and all those hair colors really coordinated well with gray pieces.

Minimalist Kawaii

Gray Oversized Top from Uniqlo. Black with Red Accent Sneakers from New Balance.

Since, I kind of said it this post that I almost tried all sort of colors, please stay tuned for my next entry to know more how I get those funky, kawaii and pastel hair colors. Details really soon (I promise!)

Laiya (Part 2): Vantage Point For Sunrise

Long overdue part two of my blog post of my beach trip in Laiya, Batangas.

For our second (and last day) of this quick getaway, we have decided to wake up early to catch the sunrise. The previous day, we were excited to catch the sunset but it so happened that Laiya in on the other side of the sunset. Upon learning that, we have decided to ring our alarm early so that we can catch the glory of sunrise. You could have known by now that everytime I go on beach trip, I never watching the sun rises and sets.

Sunrise

All Smiles

Golden

There is something about sunrise and sunset that I find amazing. Both time of the day exudes romantic and optimistic feel. Aside from that, this is the perfect time to have your photos taken, more commonly known as “Golden Hour”. Most people opt to enjoy golden hour during sunset (given the time) over sunrise. Though both time of the day provides a soft light and shadows to any photos which gives an automatic filter (without using one and less post-production process for photos).

Happiness

Also for the second day, we have the chance to enjoy the pool and see more what Sabangan Resort has to offer. We really love the ambiance as if you are in a secluded jungle because of the big trees surrounding the area.

Laiya (Part 1): Sweet Beach Trip

I love beach trips. You could probably say by now that beach trips are my kind of vacation. These kind of trips are more memorable if shared with a best friend who will also be your photographer and constant “talk-mate”.

Though it has not been long since our last beach trip together, my college best friend is currently not based here in the Philippines. So we always make sure that whenever she’s back in town, that we book this kind of mini vacation.

For this weekend trip, we decided to visit one of the nearest beach destination in the Metro. Quite honestly, the term “near” is somewhat not appropriate given the travel time (including the horrendous traffic in the Metro plus the actual travel time) and the proximity of the beach destination.

We have visited Laiya, Batangas. Laiya is a sleepy town/ muncipality in Batangas known for its beach and resort accomodations. There are plenty of resorts to choose from but we have decided to stay in Sabangan beach Resort.

Sabangan Beach Resort boasts a nature style ambiance with modern amenities. Another great thing about the resort is it has its own beach front which is a a must consider when choosing or booking for this kind of trip/ vacation.

Day 2 of my short travel series in Laiya coming soon.

New Stripes

Stripes are something I can consider as staple in my closet. I have almost all manageable style of stripes you can think of and my most favorite one is the black and white thin style. As far as I remember, I have been wearing stripes all my life. I even saw a baby picture of myself wearing this style.

Kawaii Pose

Vacation

As you would have known by now, I love simple and clean aesthetic. I even reference my style as “minimalist kawaii”. Stripes are something that I can easily mix and match to my style. You can wear this style no matter the season is. You only need to know when to wear the best perfect stripes for the occasion or season.

Simple Yet Cute

Playground

I really find it amazing when I see a stripes style with an “attitude”. Something shouts “I am not a normcore stripes” but at the same time still a classic staple. I find this very amusing top from Uniqlo UT collection which features capsule collection for different themes. I personally love these shirts from Uniqlo that I always make sure to include Uniqlo on my shopping trip every time. Aside from that, Uniqlo has got me hooked because of their clean and classic aesthetic.

By the way, I am wearing a combination from Uniqlo. Both top and bottom are from Uniqlo. Top is from Uniqlo Dick Bruna UT Collection.

The last couple of beach trips, I always brought with me some wrap arounds, cardigans or pullovers. I really find it useful to bring at least one on your beach trip as you can use it in different ways.
